Daniel Rassum – One Year Anniversary

It was right about this time of day, one year ago today, that Daniel and I started across the country together. You can read a little about it here. I will post photos from that trip below. This is the note I just received from him. Our story is from God and is meant to be shared.

Good morning Pete,

I pray that you are well and that your day will be filled with the awareness of God’s love. May his peace and His joy be with you in abundance. God bless you Pete Gall.

I am sitting in Whole Foods listening to Lional Richie sing ‘Jesus is Love’. And I’m just sitting here thinking…remembering…all that God has done for me over these past 365 days. I happened upon Psalms 118 during my daily reading…”From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me in a large place. The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me…..”

A new chapter, a new day…Lord I’ll go.

Thanks again for being there for a brother. I have learned so much from you. I am filled with gratitude this morning. God is so awesome.

That’s where we’re at. There are some missing photos from our speaking/playing together, but hopefully we’re replace them on July 12 when we do our next event together.

    Your song about your son Daniel who is in heaven touched my heart today at our church-Bridgeway. The things you sang about Daniel meeting you at the gate in heaven is almost exactly as I see when the time comes and I am in heaven and get to see my little grandson Nathaniel who my daughter lost when he was only 5 months pregnant. We saw on the ultrasound and we say him on the monitor the morning that he was dying because the doctors would not listen when my daughter told them she was leaking fluid. He fought to live but God wanted him in heaven. I cried and cried as you sang that song. Thank you for your beautiful music.
